Our 2024 Calamity Jane Production Team

Director

Elliot Beech

Calamity Jane will be Elliots directional debut.

Elliots last production with Tudor was Legally Blonde in which he played the correct Professor Callaghan. This performance was well received and revered.

Elliot has always wanted to throw his hat in the ring (pun intended) at directing and we are so thrilled that it is with Tudor that he will be taking his first stepy into the field of directing.

Elliot already has some incredible ideas as we cannot wait to see them all come to fruition.

Musical Director (MD)

Andrew Timmins

This is Andys third production with Tudor, his first being Made in Dagenham in 2022 and his second being Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2023.

During his first tenure as Musical Director, Andy has illustrated his prowess and love for the musical arts by supporting all cast members with varying musical ability and has been able to manage expectations.

We are over the moon to have Andy back as Musical Director for a third year running and cannot wait to see what he is able to achieve for this production.

Choreographer

Jenny Morris

This will be Jennys third production for Tudor, after taking a break from the theatre world, her first back was the production of Made in Dagenham (2022) in which her ambitious choreography was well received by both cast and audiences respectively.

Her love and passion for dancing translates to her fantastic choreography and she knows how to bring out the best to ensure that everyone is not only comfortable but also capable of executing her thorough choreography.

We are thrilled to have Jenny back!

Musical Synopsis

In the wild-west outpost of Deadwood City, 1876, we find the sharpshooting tomboy, CALAMITY JANE surrounded by cowboys, townsfolk, and the famous Wild Bill Hickok. After a mix-up in the talent pool at Deadwood’s saloon-theater, Calam goes to Chicago to import to Deadwood the glamorous actress, Adelaid Adams, but returns by mistake with her maid, Katie Brown instead.

Back in Deadwood, Katie’s inability to perform is overcome as she wins the heart of the young Lieutenant Danny Gilmartin, and when Calam sheds her tomboy persona at a ball at the local Fort and becomes a true woman, she realizes that she loves Wild Bill Hickok.
